Harry Potter Deep Zoom
To celebrate the launch of the final adventure in the Harry Potter film series, from Warner Bros., Shoothill created an enchanting digital Deep Zoom mosaic for MSN, which debuted across the UK on the 15th July 2011.
The microsite allowed users to upload an image via a PC so it would be included in the Harry Potter mosaic, alongside thousands of other fan pictures. Throughout the campaign, over 10,000 dedicated Harry Potter fans uploaded their images so they could take part in the promotion.
The campaign consisted of two elements: a competition to win a limited edition, hard-copy promotional poster featuring the first five thousand valid entries to the Deep Zoom Mosaic online; and an interactive mosaic showing all entries in a Deep Zoom which featured on MSN and the Harry Potter UK page on Facebook.
The interactive promotion campaign ran for over 6 weeks on the MSN Movies site and was also promoted on the official Harry Potter UK – Facebook page for a further 3 months.
