UK-based software firm Shoothill, creators of the award winning ‘GaugeMap’ live river level site, have announced a strategic partnership with Farson’s Digital Water Cams to also provide near real time imagery from a network high definition camera’s situated throughout the British and Irish river network.

Under the terms of the partnership, which is available from today, users will not only be able see the live status of river levels throughout the country via GaugeMap, which features over 3000 live river level gauges each connected to Twitter, but where available, will also will have the additional facility to see actual still imagery taken from the Farson’s network of live river cameras.

Rod Plummer MD of Shoothill said, “During the recent flooding this winter, we experienced a massive uptake in users of the GaugeMap system and of Twitter Followers to its network of over 3000 unique twitter accounts.  However, as GaugeMap is increasingly being used by all sort of water enthusiasts, for example boaters, kayaker’s, fishermen as well as for flood warning it seemed obvious that what was needed was the ability to also see video footage of the river status as well and as Farson’s already have a network of super high definition cameras doing just that, their seemed an obvious synergy for our two companies to partner to provide this additional service to GaugeMap users”

Glyn Howells MD of Farson’s also commented “For Farson’s to partner with probably the best live river level site in the world has obvious benefits.   By allowing access to our camera network via GaugeMap, we will gain more exposure of our service to end users, while we can concentrate on continuing to increase our growing network of cameras sites across the British Isles”

  1. Delighted with Guagemap.

How about a webcam on the R. Tanat at Llanyblodwel bridge or the Monitor site or perhaps higher up at Llangedwyn on the bridge at Pont Glan Tanat Isaf near Pentrefelin.

    Thanks for consideration
