We explain it using straightforward language – it is the development of a software application that complements your business processes and improves your team’s efficiency and performance. Examples could be a bespoke management system for handling your accounts, sales and shipping processes or a mobile app that allows your mobile workforce to book and manage appointments.
A business system designed & developed by Shoothill will be tailored to suit you and your direct requirements as opposed to an existing off-the-shelf product or having to maintain multiple spreadsheets and databases.
Peto is an NHS procurement specialist delivering major financial savings to acute hospital Trusts in the UK. The company cuts the cost of NHS procurement by adding competition from alternative suppliers and products where applicable for each purchasing decision. To do this the company needed a cloud based software system that would allow it to achieve NHS savings averaging 15% on ‘off catalogue’ spending.
Working closely with PETO, Shoothill developed its Procurement Analysis Database System (PAnDa) based on Microsoft SQL Azure. PAnDa delivers cost-saving opportunities on numerous small purchases normally outside routine price competition, it does this by creating a dynamic marketplace drawing on big data analysis of multiple trust data flows, which increases savings to individual trusts and keep costs down across the NHS. Unlike traditional catalogue based and bulk discounting solutions, the Peto process reduces the cost of recurring low volume orders, as well as high volume and high-value purchases.
The system also uses predictive demand models and algorithms based on seasonal, historical and behavioural patterns mapped onto products, suppliers and negotiated agreements thus allowing Peto staff to utilise PAnDa to flag live stock requirements and automate ordering from lowest cost suppliers in real time.
Iain Mackinnon - Peto Ltd
Ryminster Medical Services provide medical and legal services to all providers, both minor and major, in the medico – legal sector. After several years of sustained growth, the Ryminster leadership team recognised the need to improve the efficiency of their call handling teams and to allow potential customers to book appointments online. They contracted Shoothill to build them a custom web application which would be perfectly suited to their business and capable of dealing with their large private healthcare network.
We held a series of workshops with key Ryminster staff to fully identify their requirements which allowed us to draw up a detailed set of work flows and wireframes. Our key driver was to simplify the booking process from a call handler’s perspective. By combining a well-thought out user interface with a slick back-end database we successfully reduced the time taken to book an appointment from over four minutes to under 50 seconds.
The solution is capable of dealing with multiple practitioners, appointment types, venue and calendars, which in turn would give them the ability to create and manage hundreds of clinics across the UK. By also creating an online booking form this has seen a considerable uplift in the number of bookings received and an increase in customer satisfaction.
